Jan Tanner

Apart from being a founder of Tanner Real Estate Consulting, Jan Tanner (55) is considered one of the leading experts for shopping centre and neighbourhood development projects in Swiss real estate industry.

Starting from 2009 to 2014, Jan worked for ECE in Hamburg as the company’s branch manager for Switzerland. During that period, he held a center-manager position of Stücki Shopping Basel and Westside in Bern, over its pre-opening stage. As from 2011 till the late 2017, Jan Tanner was the President and founding member of Swiss Council of Shopping Centres (SCSC).

Jan Tanner is widely recognized as the industry’s influencer for his experts vision and professional real-estate solutions.

Drawing on the experience and personal knowledge, Jan has founded the Shopping Center Forum, an annual event that is held in Zurich since 2008. With growing attention came the recognition and in 2011 — Tanner has become a member of the European Advisory Board of the International Council of Shopping Centres.

Till the late 2018, Jan managed the western Swiss property department of the listed real estate company called Mobimo. With his previous neighbourhood management experience he has successfully managed Quartier du Flon in Lausanne for over 4 years. For the years to come, Jan will continue his journey with Mobimo — as the company’s independent consultant.
